Rex
- Beagle
male, vaccinated to date inclu. Rabies, dewormed, tx flea
preventative, heartworm tested (-), ~5yr, ~25lbs
Rex was to be euthanized at a high kill shelter where there were too
many dogs and too many Beagles!
Rex is an adorable Beagle that is patiently waiting for his new
home, he's so friendly we can't figure out why he's still here! He
is good with other dogs and good with respectful children of any
age, we have not had him around cats. Rex loves people and going for
walks every day, he would also enjoy off leash parks that are fully
fenced. Being a Beagle means Rex should not be off leash unless in a
secure area. He would be great as a second dog or on his own. Rex
loves plush squeaky toys, he will carry them around like a prize and
be very pleased with himself, he of course has to come around and
show all the people his nifty toy! Rex is relatively quiet but does
have a big "voice" to let you know when someone is at the door. He
is crate trained and house trained, he is crated at night and when
left alone and will go in his crate when asked. Rex would love to
find an active family to spend time outdoors with walking and
playing. Rex needs a house with a fully fenced yard.

Marie (pup4)
- Border Collie mix
female, vet checked, vaccinated to date, tx flea preventative,
dewormed, 7wks
Marie is from a private home. Her mom Border Collie mix, father is
unknown but looking at the pups we can guess Shepherd?, Scotch
Collie? or possibly Husky?
Marie is special; we had originally thought she had no sight at all
as her previous owner had said they figured she was totally blind.
She has been over looked by all other adopters because she is a
little different. While in foster care we have observed that Marie
seems to be able to see things just fine, she has never bumped in to
anything be it people, other pets in the home, furniture or walls.
She seems to be a little more cautious when moving around so perhaps
her sight is not perfect but she definitely can see. She is more
timid and stand offish then the rest of her siblings but as they are
adopted she is becoming more confidant, outgoing, social and
curious. We think part of her shy nature was due to a lack of
confidence being the smallest of the litter.
From Marie's foster mom: I don't believe Marie is
blind at all, she may not be able to see perfectly well but she can
see, she chases my adult dogs around and rough houses with them like
any other puppy. She hasn't bumped in to anything the whole time she
has been here and she is always able to find us or the other dogs in
the yard or in the house. There is something different about her,
but I can't say what. She is just a little more cautious, there
doesn't seem to be anything obvious, she is my pick of the bunch!
She is gaining more confidence now that her more boisterous siblings
have been adopted, she loves to cuddle and scampers over when I call
her. It almost seemed like because she was the runt and always
pushed to the back she didn't get much of a chance to explore or
being outgoing until the other pups were out of her way. She can be
quite confidant when playing with the adult dogs with her little
ears pricked up and her little curly tail held up over her back. She
has even started a cute little howl when she is having a good time
(I think she thinks she is one of my Beagles…her new best buddy).
Nothing seems to hold her back, she is pretty laid back yet still
very much a silly puppy.
We think Marie will grow to be about 20-30lb when fully matured.
Marie loves to stretch out in the grass, roll over for belly rubs or
just venture around with everyone. She is crate trained and doing
well with house training. She is currently eating a mix of Dogs We
Love (www.dogswelove.com/orangeville/index.shtml)
and a dry kibble and she loves both. She is coming along well in her
foster home and due to her smaller size would love to find a quieter
household with no small kids under 8yrs. Marie would love a house
with a fenced yard.

Ren (Rene)
- Cockapoo (Cocker
Spaniel/Poodle mix)
(adoption pending)
female, spayed, vet checked, vaccinated to date inclu. Rabies,
~20lbs, 6yr, ***Special Needs***
Due to a family break up Ren and her brother Lewis need to find new
homes. If possible they'd like to find a home together, there is a
lowered adoption fee for a family that can adopt Ren and Lewis
together.
Ren is non shedding and ideal for allergy sufferers. She needs to
visit the groomer about every 8-10wks to be clipped which prevents
her hair from matting.
Ren is a sweet girl. She is quiet and well mannered. Ren gets along
with other dogs, cats and respectful children of any age. She is
house trained and is used to free roam of the home when left alone,
she does not need to be crated. Ren is used to being left alone for
typical 9-5 work hours. Ideally Ren can find a home with her brother
Lewis, if not Ren needs to find a home with another dog. Ren loves
to go for a daily walk for about 30min, more if you have time. She
loves to cuddle and just spend time with her people. She would suit
pretty much any loving house hold. Ren was recently diagnosed with
Epilepsy and needs to be on an inexpensive medication called
Phenalbarbitol. Ren does not have any seizures when on the
medication; she takes it twice daily in a piece of cheese. She will
need to stay on the medication for the rest of her life. This does
not affect her in any way; she does not require any additional care
just her "cheese bits" twice daily. Ren would love to find a family
with a fenced yard.
